Summer-time means outdoor time. There are so many outside activities and opportunities in Carmel to lay out a blanket, open up some chairs and enjoy a picnic with family and friends. In a very unscientific poll, AroundCarmel.com asked some Carmel residents where they enjoy "picnic-ing" in town. Welcome to a new feature of AroundCarmel.com - the Carmel Farmers Market "Pick of the Week." Each Monday, AroundCarmel.com will share our favorite pick of the market. It's been tough to choose, with so many wonderful vendors. And record attendance indicates that Carmel-ites are thrilled that the market is back. The first pick goes to 3 Sisters & Him, otherwise known as the "waffle people."
Last December Sarah Richcreek imagined opening a café where she could indulge her passion for baking cookies for her friends. Her hook for "The Hot Cookie" was offering customers hot cookies - made-to-order, straight from the oven. Although insufficient start-up capital would soon force the 2008 Ball State graduate to push the café dream to the backburner, a new Carmel, Indiana-based cookie brand emerged instead.
